No two days are ever the same at the Working Girls Design Studio in Las Vegas. While we’d like to say that daily mediation keeps us sane and creative, it’s probably just as likely our daily medication and double latte are doing the trick! Seriously, we’ve found a few sure-fire strategies to get and stay inspired. Here’s our top three favorites.

1.  Change your View

Whether it’s working from your local coffee shop or taking a weekend trip, we find that getting out of your comfort zone is a great way to gain inspiration.  New sights, sounds and experiences engage the brain and introduce new concepts and ideas. We recently had a breath taking view of the Las Vegas skyline. We’ve all lived in Las Vegas nearly 8 years but for Jodi’s daughter’s 21st birthday, Jodi and Joe rented the top floor suite on the strip. We all saw Las Vegas in a whole new light. The view was so inspiring and we ended up designing a whole line of art with glitter! When you are feeling stuck and need inspiration, any easy fix is to simply change your view.

2.  Clear the Clutter

working-girls-2Creative people are always creating and it’s fun, exciting and many times quite messy. We’ve found we do our best work we stop the creative process and clear the papers, dishes and dust bunnies from our work area. It may sound trite, but a messy desk is not a sign of a brilliant mind! Getting inspired can be easy, but if you want to STAY inspired, we recommend you take a few minutes each day and clean your creative space. So even if your mind is swimming full of ideas, your eyes will have a nice soft clean place to focus.

3.  Believe in Your Idea and then….take ACTION

You have a flash of inspiration and that can be great, but now what. That initial spark of creativity can only take you so far. We’ve found it very helpful to stay the course and believe in your vision. That might mean shutting off the television, telling some people no, or letting the laundry pile up, at least temporarily. When creativity strikes, don’t just let the idea run wild in your head. Take ACTION. Trust your instincts, and take the steps necessary to materialize your thoughts in a 3rd dimensional reality. We’ve created nearly 2,000 products for the marketplace and they all started the same way, with an idea.
